The Meiji Restoriation

Mattew Perry was an American and he wanted power. The Meiji Restoriation had many imporant events happening. Mattew Perry was one of the most imporant people. He bullied Japan into signing the treaty but tricking them and showing all the technologies that the United States had.

In 1853 about four American warships were in Edo Bay. Matthew Perry was leading the commands. He came with a the order of from the United States government asking for Japan to open up its ports and to establish diplomatic relations between the two nations. He came with the sails of his ships down to show the Japanese the technological progress that the West has made.The Japanese decided to sign the Treaty of Kanagawa with the United States which opened up ports to United States ships. This allowed other Western nations to sign treaties with Japan.

The Opium Wars

It was from 1839 to 1842. China and the Brisitsh batteled. The problems between these two were that the Brisitsh wanted to make a buy and sell trade with China. But CHina just wanted to sell not aswell buy. The British wanted to "balance their trade"they decided to sell Opium.
Opium is a drug grown in India used to make morphine and heroin to the Chinese people. British thought differentllty. It was a medincine grown in Idina. iT WAS Used to relieve pain help with sleeplessness and reduce hungry and thirst. In 1838, China ruled that anyone dealing in Opium would be put to death. Shortly after that, government official began to destroy any opium coming into their land. But sadly China lost terribly in the battle with the Brisitsh.

Film Lesson: "Mountains of the Moon"

The Mountain of the Moon was a very interesting movie. There was many hardship things they all went through.

The two explorers and the severnts went though so much to find the soruce of the Nile. One of the many hardships would of been the heat of sun in Africa. The serevents had to carry so much much food without any water was so horrible. They not only had no water but they had had to walk and walk ontop of sharp rocks without any shoes. Another hardship event of their travel would be the bugs at night. At one point one the explores experienced a bug go inside his ear therefore he had to burn his ear.

A strange reason would be the name. The Lake Vicotra would be named after a Brisrish Queen, When the lake is located in Africa. Why would they have a different countries speaical lady';s name?

The euporeans were able to conquer Africa so easily because of the adavaned weapons, they new more and the ways they did their things. they were very planned out while the africans really didnt know much of society; were kinda of dumb

Karl Marx and Communisim

Karl Marx lived during the early years of the Indrustidrial Revolution. He didn't like it all. All he really noticed was that the facorty owners abused their power and didn't care about anything else but the workers working and don't stop working. The workers would over work themseleves and with just a few mins of lunch.

Karl Marx believed in that the rich were the bourgeoisie and he called the proietrait and they would always in conflict. Also the rich would just keep getting richer and the poor would just keep on getting on pooper. Marx would to put a stop to this. He just thought it was so unfair. Therfore he wanted to a start world wide revolution and fianlly stand up for what they really deserve.

Karl Marx wanted the workers to share in what they got together, so they wouldnt have problems. He called this communisim. Marx really thought it would work but unforounlty it didnt after 70 years of effort.

Karl Marx and the Indrustrial Revolution

Karl Marx relationship with the Indrustrial Revolution wasnt really that great. He didn't like it. Karl Marx was born a Jew and turned into a Chrisitian so he can start working. But during the time he worked for the Euourpe factories he was treated terribly and the work was horrid. He didn't like it one bit.

Therefore he united the workers that suffered in the job just like him and his ideas turned into Communism. The word comes from common. The workers all shared the money in the socitey.

Natnalism and the Creation of Itlay

The meaning to nationalism would be staying to the country that you believe in. Staying true oto it. Following all its laws, rules, and customs.

An example of me be nationalistic would be well following the laws and rules and customs of me coutntry. Respecting it all. Fighting for it cause I know it deserves it. Doing whats right. Speaking my coutrnies main language. And saying the Pledge of Allegence when its said.

We are all nationalisitic sometimes we don't even know we are doing it. It happens I think everyday. Since we have been living in our contry for so long it comes natural.

Simon Bolivar and Latin American Revolutions

Simon Bolivar struggled for Spains indepence and worked hard for other Lation American countries.

The Latin American Revolutions were basily a fight for freedom for the spanish countries. Since the Eurpean were taking there goods.

Simon Bolivar gained the indepence for Colombia Venezula Peru Ecdaor and boliva.

Robespierre and The Reign of Terror

The Reign of Terror was the period in time after the French Revolution [ Setpember 5, 2008] when things were going terribly wrong.

The King, Queen and the Nobles didn't like how things were being runned in the goverment and they also didn't like how they had to share their power. Legislative assembly was made but the King didn't like it as much and so the King and Queen amettped to get out but they were caught at the border and so they were sent back to France.

So much was going on in France it was out of control. Gangs were taking as much control as any goverment. People lived in fear. Jacobins aswell took control and whated to send as many as they could to the guillotine who were connected to the Old Regime and anybody else as well. They were crazy. They even send King Louis XVI to the guillotine.

& Than Maximilien Robespierre came in. The goverment tried to gain power back but they just didn't trust each other anymore. French people were just in shock, fear and terror for everything. Maximilien took control of the goverment, the months were renamed sundays were removed and all the churchs in Paris were closed. The new rules he made he named them Reign of Terror. He not only killed the King but the Queen Marie Anotinette as well. Her last words were an apologized because she steped on the executioner foot.

Eventually a conspirachy was mad against Maximilien Robespierre and he was arrested and his head was cut off. Finally it was over. France was getting to settle down back to normal and than the direcoty gave it to young general and that young general would be Napolen Bonarparte

John Locke and "The Enlightment"

The constitution is stating that WE THE PEOPLE have the our rights and freedom to do our own will. Also that we have control of goverment and who we chose as our leader and many more.

Copernicus and the trial of Galileo

Copernicus was the first astronomer to theroize that the earth was placed center of the unvierse. He set his theory out the Roman Cathalic Church and even wrote a book about it called De revolutionibus orbium coelestium. He started using the work of the scientific Revolution. The Scientific Revolution is the period of many historians of science.
But than came Galileo and his theory of heliocentrism stating that the sun if at the center of the solar system. Galileo stated his theory to the Roman Cathalic Church and the church send his to trial because he was going agaisnt the churchs beleveings.

Scientific Method

The scientific method is the best way yet discovered for winnowing the truth from lies and delusion

Scientific Method is the way that scienitics beleive is the best way of sovling a science problem. Years have gone by and many more proven results explain why the scientific method is proven correctly.
Not only is the best way its the simpliest way of solving a science problem. Start off by observing some aspect of the unveise. Next create a hypotheisis. After the hypothesis you make your precition from your hypothesis.Than you test some experiments from that prection and modity the results of your hypothesis. Repeat until there are no discrepancies between theory and experiment.

Many scienticis usally when using the scienfic method are experimenting a therory. A therory is not based on the prestige or convincing powers of the proponent.
And that is my thought and explaintion of Scientifc Method.

Evolution Vs. Creation

Evolution and creation. Still a conflect in the world today. Evolution is such a scienfic explaintion for it. That us humans came from monkeys but now where do monkeys and other animals come from? No one really knows the correct answer. Today still scientics and other people are coming out with more theroys and more facts on the way the world was made.
Some people believe well not really some people its a relgion. I'm cathlic so I would beleive that the world started with God it all. Mircales and other beaiuful things in the world God created. But thats just that way I grew up. They have so many stories for creation. For example the bible, Jesus and Mother Mary but of cousre therees more.

As for me well I truley believe in God created the world us and all the beaiuful things that the world offers today for us. Like I said before I am cathllic and worship God and all the great things he did and sstill does. As for evolution well they do prove there points well but where did it all start now ? It just cant pop outta no where, no. Because God allmighlty i beleieve started it all.
